Local show with a not so local feel

Aeronotiqz showcase local artists

Aeronotiqz brought together a number of artists at Lola's Bar in Fort Worth right off of 7th Street this past week.  The show was there to promote up and coming artists as well as further spread the word about the Aeronotiqz company.

There were some difficulties with the start of the show, since the event that took place at the bar before the Aeronotiqz Victory Lap event ran over their time limit.  Due to this, there was a mix up with what time the show was moved to and some of the fans were not able to make it.

Even with this unfortunate turn of events, most of the artists made it to the stage after the delay and people gathered for the event.  I was shocked to see how well all of the artists performed as well.  I was expecting more of a local feel, but these artists showed that despite the local appeal, they have widespread potential.

No X's on these hands

It always makes me laugh when I see underage people at a show trying vigorously to wash the X's off of the back of their hands, mostly because I was there once upon a time, only to be denied once they go to the bar and don't have the proper identification or the actual nerve to go through with it.  Still, being one of maybe five people with a beer in hand doesn't make me feel special.

I have always been a huge fan of going to local shows and seeing what my area has to offer the musical world.  So when I do make it to a show where the music has some pizzaz to it that makes me say, "I could listen to this in the car," it's even better.

I was a bit discouraged after interviewing "Scar" and finding out that the show was being pushed back even further.  But his optimism and his fans around him made me stick it out and I was happy I did.  The acts that took the stage thoroughly impressed me.  It had a lot to do with the fact that they were all so young and still had so much room for musical prowess.  I can recall a time when I played with a band in high school, but of course I wouldn't be typing this blog had I stuck it out.

Worth a look

I reported from the event live on my twitter @Zamora_Gabe so be sure to check it out and let's hear about your thoughts on local bands and shows you've attended, or maybe you want to reminise about a time when you were on stage feeling invincible.  Have a show coming up?  Shoot me an email and maybe I'll check it out and you could appear on the blog!
